Job Summary:

The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking a part-time (0.2 FTE) Research Associate position for a retired clinical audiologist to support research activities in the auditory laboratory at Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, CU Anschutz. The role leverages advanced clinical expertise to strengthen audiological rigor in study design, implementation, and training. The individual will serve as a subject-matter expert, contributing to protocol development, mentoring trainees, and supporting data collection as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert review of study protocols with specific focus on audiological methods, test selection, and clinical feasibility.
  • Recommend improvements to auditory assessment procedures to ensure alignment with best clinical and research practices.
  • Train and mentor graduate students, research staff, and postdoctoral fellows on audiological concepts, procedures, and interpretation of results.
  • Support quality assurance of audiological data collection and ensure adherence to standardized testing protocols.
  • Contribute to troubleshooting of audiological equipment, protocols, and data-related issues.
  • Provide input on interpretation of audiological outcomes for research analyses and dissemination.
  • Assist with participant testing and data collection when appropriate and based on availability.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Trained clinical audiologist
  • AuD degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Provide expert review of audiological methods and clinical feasibility in audiology.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, clearly establishing work priorities and handling multiple deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and documents and maintain strict confidentiality in all HIPAA matters.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally across large, diverse academic and healthcare populations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution, working independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to use various computer systems and software applications.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $62,873 - $116,945 (salary will be pro-rated to the .2 FTE)
