Job Description Summary:

The search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by May 18, 2026. Applications received after May 18, 2026 may be reviewed depending on search progress and needs but are not guaranteed full consideration.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Work with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists on a five-year NIH-funded project using intensive longitudinal data (i.e., wearable alcohol sensor and ecological momentary assessment surveys) to evaluate proximal associations between acute use of use and suicide risk, as well as to identify underlying psychological mechanisms, following residential alcohol use treatment. Will be responsible for managing, integrating, and analyzing intensive longitudinal data derived from ecological momentary assessment protocols and wearable sensor technologies, including the Skyn device. This role involves preprocessing and quality assurance of high-frequency, multimodal data streams; developing analysis-ready datasets; and applying statistical methods to examine within-person dynamics and between-person differences in behavioral and physiological processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, preprocess, and ensure quality control of intensive longitudinal data collected through ecological momentary assessment and wearable sensors, including the Skyn device.
  • Integrate multimodal data streams (self-report from ecological momentary assessment and physiological data from Skyn) into analysis-ready datasets.
  • Apply statistical models to examine within-person dynamics and between-person variability (e.g., DSEM, GIMME).
  • Address challenges inherent to ecological momentary assessment and wearable data, including missingness, compliance, temporal alignment, and noise.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams to translate scientific questions into appropriate analytic strategies.
  • Create clear data visualizations, summaries, and reports to support interpretation.
  • Contribute to study design, analytic planning, and dissemination of findings through manuscripts, presentations, and reports.
  • Maintain reproducible research workflows, including documentation, version control, and secure data management in compliance with IRB and data privacy requirements.
  • Provide direct supervision in data science to staff and students.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other duties as assigned.

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Personal computers, printers; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher); SPSS; MPlus; Endnote; relevant laboratory equipment. Must have own transportation.
