Research Associate
University of Sheffield - School of Allied Health Professions, Pharmacy, Nursing and Midwifery
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to our gender-based violence and child sexual abuse (CSA). The project is funded through the NIHR Three Schools Prevention Research Programme for the VOICE project (Valuing Our Insights: Culturally informed Engagement for South Asian Child Sexual Abuse Survivors).
Working alongside the Principal Investigator, Professor Parveen Ali, you take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery and coordination of the VOICE project. The roles involve contributing to a mixed methods study examining survivor experiences, professional practices, and system responses across health and social care pathways. The Research Associates will play a key role in supporting data collection, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination activities across all work packages of the project.
The post offers an ideal opportunity to establish an academic career in the field of health and social care research. It provides a platform for progression to an academic post or would suit those seeking to establish a long-term research career.
You will have a PhD (or be nearing completion) in psychology, social sciences, health, or a related field (or have equivalent experience). You will have experience in conducting research including on sensitive topics.
Based in the School of Allied Health Professions, Pharmacy, Nursing and Midwifery, University of Sheffield, the project starts in April 2026 to 31 March 2027.
