Research Associate
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Investigator and Nurse Manager and following established policies and procedures, this position will perform a variety of research activities to include participating in carrying out research objectives, as well as ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and protocol guidelines. Will provide technical support to the lnvestigator(s) and Nurse Manager and serve as a liaison between the institution and the sponsor.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Compliance
Implements established quality measures to assure compliance.
Databases
Updates and maintains databases in support of clinical research.
Recruit and Obtain Informed Consent
May recruit and obtain informed consent from patients and control subjects that meet enrollment parameters, adhering to HIPAA Laws.
Documents
Maintain related clinical research documents (i.e. case report forms, IRB information, adverse events, protocol changes, drug dispensing logs, regulatory binders, and source documents)
Supplies
May order and maintain study specific materials such as supplies and drugs. Maintains study logs per protocol.
Study Specific Tasks
May collect study specific tasks such as monitoring vital signs, weight, ECG's, phlebotomy, etc.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years research and/or clinical experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: B8
Salary Range: $45,400/annually - $56,700/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
