Research Associate - Hodson Lab (Fixed-term)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, inquisitive and skilled Research Associate (Computational Biology) to join the group of Dr Daniel Hodson at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute and the Department of Haematology based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The post-holder will join an established research team within which they will initiate an independent research program consistent with the lab's interests in the molecular pathogenesis of B cell lymphomas with a view to discovery of new therapeutic modalities. This work will aim to identify novel therapeutic strategies, drawing on the local expertise and available technologies. The project will apply cutting-edge machine learning and computational modelling to decipher the structural organisation, dynamics and therapeutic potential of multiprotein complexes.

The successful candidate must hold (or be about to obtain) a doctorate in a relevant subject. The candidate should have strong experience of computational biology. They must be able to lead and troubleshoot a complex project and to engage effectively with wet lab experimentalists and clinical collaborators. The ability to learn quickly and to work both independently and as part of a team is essential. The post-holder will become a valued member of the Hodson Group and will supervise students and junior researchers. Excellent communication, organizational and proven problem-solving skills are essential. Past experience of computational cancer biology and in silico modelling of protein structures would be desirable.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to contact Dr Hodson (djh1002@cam.ac.uk) directly when considering an application to discuss the project in greater detail.
