This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally leading research team working to understand the mechanisms causing obesity and find and test new weight loss treatments.

The Research Associate (Honorary Resident Doctor) will work as part of an established team to conduct a range of experimental medicine studies and clinical trials led by Professor Sadaf Farooqi. They will be responsible for recruiting patients, conducting physiological measurements and provide support and clinical care for the patients involved in clinical trials. The postholder will need to travel to clinics/surgeries across the UK to assess patients before, during and after their recruitment into trials. Excellent clinical skills including venepuncture and cannulation are required.

Applicants must have GMC registration, MRCP and at least 2 years postgraduate clinical experience.

This post is available to start from 1st August 2026.

This appointment requires an Honorary Clinical Contract with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

The funding supporting this position is available until 31st July 2027 in the first instance.
