Research Associate III
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate III in the Department of Anesthesiology within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Associate III will participate in experiments to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the development and maintenance of chronic itch.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Participates in experimental design; carries out experiments specific to mu opioid receptor mechanisms.
- As assigned, carries out various technical and research operations relating to electrophysiology, patch clamp techniques.
- Compiles and presents statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations.
- Instructs students, fellows and technicians in various procedures, to carry out assignments in the laboratory.
- Assists in the preparation of grant applications for the funding of research activities.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.
