This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).
Expertise is required in the specific area of advanced cell culture techniques, genetic engineering of mammalian cells, biochemistry, specifically splicing analysis, metabolism—especially analysis of mitochondrial function, and animal models of cancer.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include investigation of the role of splicing factors in hematologic malignancy and normal hematopoietic cells with a focus on PINK1 regulation by metabolic function.
Responsibilities include:
- Short- and long-term planning of experiments.
- Conceptual development of experimental goals in collaboration with the PI.
- Execution and interpretation of experiments.
- Establishing collaborations with other scientists at Penn and outside institutions.
- Writing and editing manuscripts.
