Organizational Status
The Research Associate will report to Dr. Fabio Rossi on projects that include multiple collaborative labs from UBC and globally.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate... integrating cutting-edge pluripotent stem cells, organoid systems, animal models, genetic disease, infection, genomics, and immunology.
Research & Scientific Contributions
- Developing and optimizing animal models of disease, with specific focus on skeletal and cardiac muscle.
- Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments, ensuring high-quality, reproducible results.
- Contributing to advancing scientific knowledge by publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national and international conferences.
Mentorship & Team Leadership
- Training, mentoring, and supervising lab personnel, including postdoctoral fellows, Ph.D. students, and technicians...
- Overseeing and leading trainees within research projects...
- Fostering an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment...
Grant Writing & Regulatory Compliance
- Preparing and contributing to grant applications and progress reports...

Qualifications
- Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Candidates should have a strong research background...
- Candidates with a strong background in stem cell biology, animal models, immunology, and multi-omics will be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have >5 years of experience in a postdoctoral and/or Research Associate role with experience in laboratory personnel management.
Supervision received
The incumbent will receive supervision directly from Dr. Fabio Rossi but will have the opportunity to work closely with other collaborating laboratories.

Start date and stipend
The expected start date is June 16, 2026. The position is located at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver campus).
