Research Associate in the project A Home for Home & Place Making (0.3 FTE)

The research assistant position is linked to the Faculty of Spatial Sciences. The Faculty of Spatial Sciences is an open faculty. With about 100 employees, 100 PhD students, and about 1,100 students, we focus on high-quality education and research in the fields of social and economic geography, demography, and planning. Our research program TRACE (TRAnsformations, Communities and Environments) aims to create scientific and societal impact through groundbreaking research at the intersection of people, places, and planning in rural and urban environments, particularly at local and regional scales. With two bachelor's and seven master's programs, we offer a wide range of courses in geography and spatial sciences. Our motto is: we are making places better together.

Project Description: In the implementation project 'A home for Home & Place Making (HPM)', we focus on improving the quality of life for people with Acquired Brain Injury (NAH). Because it is difficult to resume normal life with brain injury and find your place in society again. Therefore, in previous action research together with NAH experts, we developed an approach for Home & Place Making. This HPM method supports professionals in care and welfare in guiding people who have to learn to deal with their NAH. To teach professionals how they can easily apply HPM in their daily work, we have developed a training and train-the-trainer module for them. To really have an impact, the HPM method and these modules now need to be integrated into practice. The goal of the project is twofold and includes the safeguarding of: 1) the HPM training and train-the-trainer module by placing it with a training institute; and 2) the HPM method in the care practice for people with NAH.

Job Requirements: The junior employee is involved in the implementation of training activities and stimulating and monitoring the integration of the HPM method. Given the transdisciplinary and applied nature of the project, we are looking for someone with a broad interest and excellent communication and project management skills. - A Master's degree in MSc BA Health, Health Sciences, Organizational Psychology, Population Studies, Sociology, or related discipline. - Change management or implementation knowledge. - Experience with qualitative research methods, in both collecting and analyzing qualitative data. - Demonstrable experience in working constructively in a diverse team; preferably some experience in a multidisciplinary setting. - Affinity with the subject, preferably demonstrable through previous work on similar topics. - Fluent command of Dutch (and English). - Good communication skills and a proactive and independent work attitude. - Curiosity and enthusiasm for translating scientific insights into practice, applied scientific implementation and evaluation research.

Terms of Employment: Fixed-term contract: 18 months. We offer an appointment in accordance with the cao Nederlandse Universiteiten - a salary depending on education and experience from a minimum of €3,546 to a maximum of €5,538 (scale 10) gross per month for full-time work - 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%. - The appointment is in principle for a period of 18 months and 0.3 FTE. - Working hours are flexibly arranged in consultation. The intended start date is 1 December 2025.
