FULL TIME RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (Veterinary Technician)

The Hubbell Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Full time Research Associate to work with preclinical experimentation and animal modeling.

The Hubbell lab is known for extensive bioengineering and biomaterials for immunomodulation with a keen eye on translation into clinical settings.

Responsibilities

Candidates will be responsible for:

  • Administering injections (intravenous [tail vein], intraperitoneal, and subcutaneous),
  • Routine sampling (blood collection via submandibular or submental puncture),
  • Mouse colony management and husbandry (including breeding and separation of cages),
  • Scoring various autoimmune models (paralysis and arthritis), and
  • Necropsy and organ harvest.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in mouse rearing and treatments as exemplified by a strong publication record and/or references. Previous experience in animal injections, sampling, husbandry, and general care is necessary. Aseptic surgical experience is a plus.

Salary range

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $58,656 depending on the candidate’s experience and qualification.

Expected start date and period of employment

Expected start date is May 1, 2026. This position is expected to be for 12 months.

Candidates should have at least a 1 year of experience or 3+ years? experience in Immunology, Bio- or Biomedical Engineering, Biology or a related field with a BS in those fields preferred Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
