Research Associate / Senior Research Assistant (25260512)

The Academy is seeking a Research Associate/Senior Research Assistant to join a project on diaspora, global history and transnationalism.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct library and textual research;
• Perform digital searches;
• Retrieve material from digital databases and translate; 
• Edit and curate texts; and 
• Support other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Requirements:

• A master’s degree or above in History or related disciplines; applicants with a doctoral degree or relevant qualifications may be considered for a Research Associate position;
• Proficiency in conducting manual and digital searches for research materials;
• Curiosity about the history of Hong Kong, ethnic minorities and cultural hybridity;
• Good analytical, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills; and
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin) and English.

The initial appointment will be offered on a contract of 5 months starting early March 2026. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and funding availability.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
