Job description:
The South Yorkshire Sustainability Centre and the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures are launching an exciting new Sustainable Futures Impact Fellowship. We’re seeking a passionate, collaborative researcher to work closely with regional partners to explore how poor air quality affects health, workforce capacity, and wider economic resilience.
In this interdisciplinary, systems-focused role, you’ll combine existing evidence with fresh, regionally tailored insights to inform real-world decision-making. Your work will directly support Sheffield City Council’s public health team as they shape the scope of a new clean air strategy for the city.
You should have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in atmospheric or Earth sciences, or a related area, along with a solid history of scholarly work and familiarity with at least one programming language.
You’ll be the kind of person who thrives working across multiple organisations, teams and disciplines.
If you’re driven to create meaningful impact and help shape a healthier, more resilient future for South Yorkshire, we’d love to hear from you.
The University of Sheffield is a remarkable place to work. Our people are at the heart of everything we do. Their diverse backgrounds, abilities and beliefs make Sheffield a world-class university.
We offer a fantastic range of benefits including a highly competitive annual leave entitlement (with the ability to purchase more), a generous pensions scheme, flexible working opportunities, a commitment to your development and wellbeing, a wide range of retail discounts, and much more.
