Job Description:
The Translational Health Research Center (THRC) at Texas State University facilitates applied research and events through partnerships with TXST faculty, staff, and students, businesses, community members, nonprofits, and government organizations.
THRC conducts and shares health and resilience research through our Extension of Community Health Outreach (ECHO) hub, podcasts, and other broadcast programming as part of our THRC Research Network. The Research Broadcast Producer & Director will be responsible for developing, leading, hosting, and postproduction activities for THRC Research Network programming, including writing scripts and managing logistics for research-oriented productions, from inception through completion. This position will collaborate with TXST faculty and staff, community and business leaders, faculty and staff at other universities, students, and editors to develop programs aligned with THRC's mission. It requires a creative, detail-oriented multimedia professional with experience working at a university research center that partners directly with community and public audiences on research and programming.
Job Duties:
The ideal candidate should be able to:
- Plan, direct, and produce THRC Research Network's ECHO, podcasts, and broadcast programming to share TXST research with community members, academics, and the public.
- Collaborate with THRC Faculty Fellows, Principal Investigators, and staff to identify and engage subject matter experts, community and business leaders, and academic audiences as ECHO session participants.
- Lead all aspects of THRC virtual events and podcasts, to ensure programming topics, and speakers represent the mission and goals of TXST: create schedules, book speakers, manage scripts, host programs, and manage production and dissemination activities to share health and resilience research findings with the public and elevate TXST's research profile through the THRC Research Network.
- Manage evaluation and reporting of THRC Research Network programming and participant organizations, use outcome data for continuous improvement of programming to attract and educate participants for THRC programs.
- Cultivate a professional network of media producers, directors, and editors, PR professionals, ECHO hub and podcast producers at other institutions, community and business leaders, and others who can help ensure the quality and success of THRC Research Network programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned
