Department/Program Description:
The Stanford Memory Lab specializes in behavioral and neuroimaging studies of memory and cognition. The RC will join a lab of one principal investigator (PI), two research coordinators, six postdoctoral scholars, and three graduate students. The lab conducts aging research in conjunction with Dr. Elizabeth Mormino in the Department of Neurology and Stanford Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC).
Position Summary:
The Department of Psychology’s Memory Lab is seeking a full-time Social Science Research Coordinator (RC) position. The RC will be an integral member of a team investigating memory and cognitive functions in older adults and will be responsible for assisting with collection and analysis of cognitive measures and neuroimaging data from healthy older adults, along with subject recruitment and project management. Competitive applicants for this position will be patient, detail- oriented, professional, punctual, and able to work in teams and independently. Applicants with experience with functional MRI, R, and Matlab are particularly encouraged to apply.
This is a 100% FTE, one-year fixed-term position of renewal to a full-time position upon funding availability. This position will be based on the Stanford campus.

Core Duties:
- Prepare correspondence, documents, and reports.
- Maintain and file forms and documents, including consent forms and master subject logs. Assist with the screening, recruiting, and obtaining consent of study participants. Conduct telephone or in-person interviews as needed to gather data. Schedule and/ or call subjects for appointments. Order and maintain equipment and supplies.
- Process study compensation payments and thank you letters to subjects upon completion of trial activities. Assist with post-study activities, as needed.
- Maintain the lab homepage and lab wiki.
- Apply formulas and calculations to research data using basic statistical programs. Review and verify accuracy of database information and assist in making necessary corrections according to specific guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Two year college degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Preferred Education:
Four-year college degree and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Bachelor's degree in cognitive science, psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field.
Preferred Experience:
Basic understanding of research design and analysis (e.g., from Introduction to Psychology).
Fundamental statistical knowledge about how to analyze data (e.g., from Introduction to Statistics).
Strong interpersonal skills for working with human study participants. Ability and motivation to complete tasks efficiently and independently. Experience with academic writing and publication.
Organization and attention to detail.
Familiarity with statistics and computers, including the Linux operating system and programming and programming/scripting (e.g., in shell script, Python, R, or Matlab).
Experience with acquiring and analyzing neuroimaging data. Skill in the recruitment and testing of clinical patients.
Strong attention to detail, quick learner, able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
Familiarity with statistics and computers, including the Linux operating system and programming/scripting highly desired.
Prior experience with fMRI and familiarity with AFNI are strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.

Physical Requirements:
Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts.
Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl, rarely reach/work above shoulders, and operate foot and/or hand controls.

PAY TRANSPARENCY LANGUAGE
The expected pay range for this position is $29.67 to $35.20 per hour.
