- Duration: 24 Month Fixed Term
- Remuneration: Level A $113,911- Level B $127,947 base, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading
- Work rights required: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.

Details of the role
The Research Fellow (Biostatistician) is expected to carry out independent and/or team research and develop their research expertise. The position holder’s primary obligation is the statistical analysis of national linked health and clinical datasets in collaboration with investigators and stakeholders. They will be responsible for the design, documentation, analysis and reporting of Kirby Institute projects. The projects include HIV prevention including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and cervical disease prevention including HPV vaccination and screening.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact public health research using large-scale, complex datasets. You will apply advanced statistical techniques to inform critical work in HIV and cervical disease prevention, collaborating with leading researchers and stakeholders. The position combines technical excellence with real-world impact, allowing you to design studies, develop analysis plans, and communicate findings that shape policy and practice. You will work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to innovative projects while building your research profile and advancing your expertise in biostatistics and population health.
The role of Research Fellow (Biostatistician) reports to Associate Professor Benjamin Bavinton and has no direct reports.
