Research Fellow (Cancer Science Institute)
Job Description
The Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (CSI) at the National University of Singapore is seeking a highly qualified and independent Research Fellow to lead and contribute to cutting-edge research in cancer biology. The successful candidate will design and drive research projects, supervise junior lab members, and produce high-impact scientific outputs in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and external partners.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Scientific Innovation
- Lead and execute independent research projects aligned with the lab’s goals.
- Develop and optimise advanced experimental methodologies.
- Drive hypothesis generation, experimental design, and scientific problem-solving.
2. Data Interpretation & Publication
- Perform data analysis, interpret findings, and translate results into manuscripts and reports.
- Prepare and publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Present findings at local and international scientific conferences.
3. Mentorship & Lab Management
- Mentor junior researchers, including Research Assistants and graduate students.
- Assist with grant applications, project planning, and budget monitoring.
- Support overall lab operations, including compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Requirements
- PhD in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong track record of research productivity, including first-author publications.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead research initiatives.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
