Research Fellow (CQM/LN)
Job Description
Perform a variety of research activities which include planning, organizing, and conducting research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (http://www.digitalmedicinelab.org/):
- Apply statistics, machine learning, and deep learning to analyse various types of clinical data such as large-scale electronic health records, biosignals, omics data, and/or medical images (MRI, CT, X-ray).
- Conceptualise new ideas and develop plans for independent research which could have a considerable influence and impact in medical informatics and health data science.
- Write high-quality technical/methodological research papers, present research outcomes and develop connections with local and international researchers for collaboration work.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers, graduate students with occasional educational/instructional activities.
- Perform other academic duties as required by the Principal Investigator.
Job Requirements
- PhD in statistics / biostatistics / computing / engineering / epidemiology with good mathematical knowledge and extensive research experience in machine learning and statistics.
- Published in reputable journals and/or good machine learning and data science conferences.
- Good programming skills in R and Python.
- Having interests in applying statistics and machine learning to solve real-world medical problems.
- Willing to conduct independent research as well as support team research activities.
- Strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
