Research Fellow (Optical Bioimaging)
Job Description
The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for a postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the development of super-resolution nonlinear optical microscopy for label-free tissue and cells nano-imaging.
The Research Fellow is expected to work on the followings:
- Line-scanned and FPGA linear-detection designs and construction.
- Interfacing between hardware and imaging software control.
- Algorithm development for signal processing.
Qualifications
- Possess a PhD degree in one of the related disciplines such as Physical Optics, Applied Optics/Applied Physics, Optical Engineering and instrumentation, Biomedical Engineering and or equivalent qualifications.
- Demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas is required: super-resolution microscopy (STED, PALM, STORM, etc), nonlinear optics and microscopy (SRS/CARS, SHG, THG, etc.); Fourier optics, fiber-optics and imaging; SERS, near-field optics and surface plasmon; tip-enhanced Raman technique, ultrafast laser technique; laser spectroscopy; optoelectronics. Animal models, tissue and cells manipulation and imaging.
- Hands-on experience in ultrafast lasers and pulse shaping/spectral focusing are a must.
- Proficiency in programming using C++, Matlab, Labview/GUI is advantageous.
- Creativity and independence are highly desirable.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Open to fixed-term contract.
