The Chemical Engineering Program (group of Xi Gao), is looking for 1 research fellow to conduct research projects in the catalytic conversion of biomass/plastic into high-value fuels, chemicals, and materials. Contract duration: 2-3 years

化学工程系高希教授团队招收1名博士后，开展生物质/塑料催化转化制备高价值燃料、化学品和材料的研究项目。期限： 2-3年。

Project Details

The main objective of the project is to (1) catalytic conversion of plastic into hydrogen and low-carbon fuels, (2) catalytic conversion of biomass into high-value fuels (such as jet fuels), chemicals (such as polyols, sugars, phenols) and carbon materials, etc., (3) catalytic hydrogenation of biomass-derived molecules into high-value chemicals, with the application in cosmic, pharmaceutical, and food, (4) DFT investigate of catalytic mechanism.

该项目的主要研究目标包括（1）将塑料催化转化为氢和低碳燃料，（2）将生物质催化转化为高价值燃料（如飞机燃料）、化学品（如多元醇、糖、酚类）和碳材料等，（3）生物质衍生分子催化加氢转化为高价值化学品，并在化妆品、制药和食品中应用，（4）催化机理的DFT研究。

Selection Criteria

• PhD or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Engineering, or in a relevant engineering and Science discipline 化学工程、化学、材料工程或相关工程和科学学科的博士或者硕士学位
• Strong background in catalysis (preferable) 具有较好的催化研究背景（优先）
• Good communication skills, good command of English (essential) 良好的沟通能力，良好的英语水平（必备）
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment (essential) 能够独立工作以及在团队环境中工作（必需）
• Ability to author/co-author high-quality scientific publications (essential) 撰写/共同撰写高质量科学出版物的能力（必需）
