The postholder will be an active member of the research team supporting the process evaluation work package within an NIHR HTA-funded multicentre randomised controlled trial. The postholder will contribute to the conduct and analysis of the process evaluation using established guidance, undertaking data collection and analysis and preparing outputs to inform interpretation of trial outcomes by the research team. The postholder will work under the direction of the Chief Investigator and senior research team.

About the person:

The successful candidate must have and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Hold a relevant degree.
  • Have, or be about to obtain*, a PhD in a relevant discipline (*must be obtained within 3 months of commencement of employment).
  • Significant relevant research experience including qualitative and/or mixed-methods research (e.g., interviews, focus groups, surveys and analysis).
  • Demonstrated experience of conducting research in NHS healthcare settings.
  • Sufficient breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in research delivery, clinical trials, and of research methods and techniques to work within an established research programme.
  • Strong academic writing skills and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage research activities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain contacts, networks, and collaborative working relationships.
  • Demonstrable intellectual ability, initiative, and capacity to assess and organise resources.

This is a part-time post, 0.2FTE, available until 31 March 2031. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
