Research Programme Lead in Hydration and Health
The Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to lead a two-year research programme on hydration and health. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Neil Walsh and his team on an industry-funded research programme extending recently published work. You will be expected to take a lead role in all aspects of the programme of work, including:
- study design;
- ethical approval;
- the day-to-day running and administration of the research programme;
- the implementation of interventions;
- assisting in the collection and interpretation of data; and
- the production of technical reports and manuscripts for publication.
You should have completed a PhD in a relevant subject area e.g., nutrition, human physiology, health psychology, exercise science. Experience of leading high-level research projects is essential, as is experience of biological sample collection (including venous blood collection), handling, storage (in accordance with GLP), biochemical analysis and an awareness of quality control techniques. Experience of publishing in high quality journals is desirable as is experience of working with industry sponsors. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise a continuously demanding workload.
Interviews will likely take place the week commencing 26th January 2026.
The successful candidate will be expected to commence the post in March 2026.
