About the role
The Division of Respiratory Sciences at the University of Leicester are seeking a Research Programme Manager to join them on a fixed term basis to lead the delivery of a portfolio of large-scale respiratory research programmes, including the national PHOSP-COVID study involving 35+ institutions and 80+ UK sites.
You will oversee study set-up and delivery, manage staff and budgets, coordinate Principal Investigators and trial teams, and work closely with sponsor offices and institutional research teams. You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders across partner organisations and provide line management to the project management team to ensure successful delivery of complex, multi-centre studies.
About you
As the successful applicant, you will hold a master’s degree in a science or related discipline, or equivalent experience, with a strong track record in translational clinical research. You will have extensive experience in respiratory medicine, including Long COVID research.
You will be highly experienced in managing large, complex research programmes and consortia, with strong project and financial management skills. You will have in-depth knowledge of regulatory and governance requirements and proven experience managing regulatory submissions, amendments and research agreements.
You will be confident working with both academic and commercial partners, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and leading meetings to clear outcomes. Organised, proactive and solutions-focused, you will be able to assimilate complex information quickly, communicate it clearly to a range of audiences and build effective relationships.
