About us:

The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) is the largest academic community in Europe devoted to the study and prevention of mental illness and brain disease. The IoPPN pioneers research into new and improved ways of understanding and treating mental ill health (http://www.kcl.ac.uk/ioppn/). The research role is based in the Psychology Department, one of the world’s largest academic groupings of clinical and health psychologists. It is one of four departments in the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences. (https://www.kcl.ac.uk/psychology)

About the role:

We are seeking an organised, motivated, and proactive Research Project Coordinator to join the Department of Psychology in the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) at King’s College London. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in delivering the CIRCuiTS‑AI project, an innovative programme developing an AI‑enhanced digital tool to support cognitive remediation for young people experiencing psychosis or affective disorders.

The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the project principal investigator and will be responsible for coordinating and managing all phases of this multi‑partner research project. The role involves close collaboration with our industry partner HelloSelf, the McPin Foundation, and individuals with lived experience, ensuring that AI‑supported enhancements to the CIRCuiTS therapy platform are developed, tested, and implemented effectively.

The post holder will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the study, including supervising research staff, supporting recruitment, managing ethics and governance processes, and ensuring high‑quality data collection and management. The post‑holder will contribute to multidisciplinary meetings and steering groups and play an active role in promoting meaningful patient and public involvement throughout the project.

This role requires excellent organisational, communication, and liaison skills to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clinicians, service users, AI developers, computer scientists, statisticians, and NHS partners. You will also represent the project at local, national, and international meetings, events, and conferences.

Based at King’s College London, you will be expected to uphold all university policies and professional standards while contributing to a groundbreaking programme of research aimed at transforming the delivery of digital psychological therapies in mental health services.

This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract for 4 years initially, with the possibility to extend until May 2031. Earliest start date is 1st of June 2026.
