Research Scientist in Fluid Dynamics
Description
The research team of Professor Nader Masmoudi (Fluid Dynamics Research Group), working in the area of fluid dynamics within the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Scientist to contribute to and lead advanced research in the mathematical and computational modeling of fluid flows.
The successful candidate will work on challenging problems in hydrodynamic stability, vortex dynamics, boundary layers, fluid-structure interaction, and heat and mass transfer. The research will involve the development of numerical solvers and theoretical models for incompressible and multiphase flows, and may include collaboration with experimentalists and interdisciplinary partners.
The Research Scientist will play an active role in mentoring students, preparing research proposals, and supporting academic initiatives. The position is ideal for a candidate with deep expertise in fluid mechanics and a strong interest in bridging applied mathematics and engineering.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, with at least 08 years of post-Ph.D. research experience. A strong publication record, experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics, and involvement in student supervision and proposal development are essential.
For consideration, applicants need to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae with full publication list, a Transcript, statement of research interests and two letters of reference, all in PDF format. If you have any questions, please email Prof. Nader Masmoudi at nm30@nyu.edu.
