Research Specialist A

This is a full time (40 hours per week) research specialist position to assist in experiments to study sleep in the round worm C. elegans.

Position contingent upon funding.

Job Responsibilities

1. Animal husbandry including cryo preservation of worm strains.
2. Supply ordering and other lab manager tasks such as maintenance of equipment.
3. Molecular biology including cloning
4. Behavioral experiments
5. Collecting worms for metabolomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
6. Genetic crosses
7. Supervision of undergraduate students.
8. Read scientific literature pertinent to project.
9. Communicate with other lab members and with PI.
10. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
