Research Specialist B
Job Description Summary
The person who fills this position will produce in vitro transcribed RNA and use this RNA in experiments exploring novel RNA-based cancer vaccines and therapeutic applications. The candidate will:
- Produce mRNA by in vitro transcription, perform mRNA quality control tests
- Work with mammalian cell culture and will be using molecular biology techniques to engineer mouse cell lines
- Will be using molecular biology techniques for quality control and validation of mouse cell engineering
- Maintain mouse colonies and implement models of breast cancer
- Immunize and assess treatments in mice, including performing injections, tissue harvesting, blood collection
- Perform immunologic analysis using methods such as flow cytometry, ELISAs
- Analyze and interpret results, troubleshoot experiments

Job Responsibilities
- Small animal work (immunizations, assistance in in vivo experiments, colony maintenance).
- Production and evaluation of in vitro transcribed RNA.
- Molecular biology (gel electrophoresis, western blot, PCR, ELISA, etc) and cell culture.
- Data management and presentations.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
