Job Description Summary
The Department of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics is seeking a Research Specialist D position. This position will act as Laboratory Manager and conduct research as designated by the Principal Investigator.
Job Responsibilities
- Order all lab supplies, maintain compliance with EHRS (radiation safety, chemical hygiene, blood borne pathogens) and compliance with DEA license.
- Maintain laboratory stocks (e.g. recombinant proteins, plasmids, cell-lines, specialized chemicals and oligonucleotides) and other tangible research material. Replace or supervise their replacement and ship to collaborators.
- Maintain cell culture facility: CO2 incubators/laminar flow hoods/sterile supplies and ordering from the cell center
- Conduct mammalian and bacterial cell culture and molecular biology techniques (e.g. RT-PCR, cloning, plasmid preparation, stable and transient transfection, and immunoblot analysis) as required. Train others in the use of these techniques.
- Conduct projects related to steroid hormone metabolism and signaling in cancer cells using plate reader enzyme assays, radiochromatography, HPLC, reporter gene assays, nano-BiT assays, and gene expression analysis
- Maintain accurate records and prepare progress reports.
- Maintain laboratory instrumentation and arrange service calls
Qualifications
- Masters Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Ability to work independently and train/mentor others on research techniques.

Pay Range: $66,000.00 - $76,973.25 Annual Rate
