Research Support Associate 2

SENIOR RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE, Political Science

to coordinate the research and teaching-related needs of four professors in the fields of comparative politics. Responsibilities will include assisting with research by compiling literature reviews, case studies, and memos; proofreading work; collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data; and preparing data visualizations for papers in the process of publication. Will also perform general administrative duties, including preparing and transmitting correspondence, making travel arrangements and processing expenses, providing support for conference and working-group planning, and performing other miscellaneous tasks. This is an ideal position for someone interested in gaining research experience in political science and potentially pursuing graduate study in a social science field. RSAs frequently enroll in a two-semester sequence of quantitative analysis courses during the first year of work.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: High school diploma or its equivalent and good communication and organizational skills. PREFERRED: Thorough knowledge of social science research and data collection methods (quantitative and qualitative); strong statistical analysis (Stata or R) and data management (spreadsheets and databases) skills; experience with Latex; foreign language skills; and an undergraduate degree in political science or related social or policy science discipline. A writing sample, two letters of recommendation, and academic transcripts will be needed at the time of interview.
