Research Support Associate
Position Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Research Support Associate to work in the Department of Clinical and Preventive Nutrition Sciences.
The Research Support Associate will assist with the day-to-day operations and the ongoing research projects in the Rawal Nutrition and Health Lab. The Research Support Associate will report to the primary investigator. Candidate must have completed a Bachelor of Arts or Science in public health, nutrition, psychology, biomedical sciences, or related field. Additionally, the Research Support Associate will work on IRB protocols, data collection and analysis, participant recruitment, and/or assist with preparation of research abstracts, manuscripts, posters and oral presentations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Assist in the development, submission, and renewal of IRB protocols.
- Assist in development of study protocols, data collection tools, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform data collection, data entry and data analysis.
- Screen, recruit and assess research participants, including scheduling visits and conducting follow-up.
- Maintain study records, logs, and documentation in proper filing system.
- Conduct literature searches and reviews as assigned.
- Assist in preparation of research abstracts and manuscript drafts, revisions, and submission in collaboration with the PI and graduate students.
- Contribute to the design and preparation of posters and/or oral presentations as required in collaboration with the PI and graduate students.
- Conduct routine data quality check to accuracy, completeness and adherence to study protocols.
- Must be willing to have a flexible working schedule for participant assessment.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in public health, nutrition, psychology, biomedical sciences, or related field required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing.
No special vision requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The candidate will work primarily in Newark or New Brunswick with some remote work flexibility.
Candidate will have access to a standard computer, phone, and internet access to perform the duties outlined.
Data processing licenses will be provided.
