Research Teaching Specialist II
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist II for the Center for Immunity and Inflammation Department within New Jersey Medical School.
Under direction, is responsible for the management of a medium-sized laboratory area. Designs and conducts highly specialized, technical research.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Assists in the establishments of performance standards as well as the selection of methodology and instrumentation.
- Performs various research and technical operations independently or as assigned, followed by appropriate reports, recommendations, and conclusions.
- Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, lower-level professionals and technicians in laboratory technicians, instrumentation, etc. to develop the skills necessary to perform the required functions.
- Assists with the preparation of proposals, formal applications and justifications for grant applications.
- Assists with the development of budget proposals for the laboratory area.
- Compiles and presents statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations pertinent to research activity.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Master's Degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.
- Or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science plus three (3) years of related research experience.
