Research Teaching Specialist IV (Genomics)
Position Summary:
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV (Genomics) for the Office of Research within New Jersey Medical School.
The primary purpose of this RTS IV position is to perform high throughput DNA and RNA sequencing and support the operations of the MRF lab in the NJMS Genomics Center.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Perform various protocols, including but not limited to, RNA and DNA extraction (possibly working with potentially infectious agents and bloodborne pathogens), sequencing and microarray protocols.
- Assist with day to day operations of the Genomics Center as necessary.
- Assist with laboratory data management.
- Assist with maintenance of instruments.
- Perform general laboratory maintenance and support.
- Maintain laboratory safety standards.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in a relevant science.
- Or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus (1) year of related research experience.
