Research Teaching Specialist V
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist V for the department of Pharmacology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the PI, Lab Manager or Research Teaching Specialist V, performs research activities relative to the studies of liver fibrosis and hepatic stellate cell biology. Performs work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- As directed, performs research and technical operations relative to the ongoing investigatory activities of the lab. Performs studies with wild-type and genetically modified mice, including handling, injection and tissue collection.
- Perform cell culture studies with human and primary mouse cells.
- Perform molecular biology techniques, including quantitative polymerase chain reaction, western blotting, and enzyme activity assays. Perform quantitative analysis of histopathology.
- Participates in the evaluation of existing procedures suggesting revisions where necessary and proposing new procedures where required.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive laboratory records of procedures and experiments.
- Perform statistical analyses of research data; analyze and process experimental data for publication/grant application.
