Position HighlightsThe College of Medicine-Tucson, Department of Psychiatry, is leading the effort to understand, diagnose, treat, and prevent psychiatric disorders, prepare future clinicians, provide state-of-the-art care, and give direction to community efforts to improve behavioral health. We are looking to hire a Research Technician II position that will conduct and support human subjects research. The candidates will adhere to study protocol procedures and administer techniques to fit specific experiment requirements, and assist with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment, instruments, and apparatuses.
William "Scott" Killgore, PhD, is a Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience who joined the University of Arizona on July 1, 2014. He brings an active research program from Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital, including his Social, Cognitive, and Affective Neuroscience (SCAN) Laboratory. The Lab is devoted to the study of emotional intelligence, PTSD, mTBI, stress, and related conditions. Dr. Killgore's innovative work is funded by the Department of Defense, and recent research focuses on effects of prolonged sleep deprivation, chronic sleep restriction, and the use of stimulant countermeasures on the cognitive-affective systems within the brain.
- Overnight and weekend shifts will be required.

Duties & Responsibilities- Collect data from research participants using computerized tasks and study protocols.
Maintain detailed study records, and organize, enter, and verify research data.Administer and score psychological and neurocognitive assessments and virtual reality (VR) tasks according to study protocols, consulting the Principal Investigator or senior staff on non-standard situations.Recruit and screen study participants online and in person, applying study eligibility criteria.Operate and maintain research equipment and instruments,troubleshoot routine issues.Prepare data summaries and quantitative results, and contribute to research reports and study protocols.This job posting reflects the general nature and level of work expected of the selected candidate(s).
