Job Summary

The Bronner Lab in the Division of Biology and Biological Engineering is seeking a motivated individual to join as a Research Technician. The successful candidate will assist on one or more projects to study neural crest and its role in development in zebrafish.

Essential Job Duties

  • Conduct scientific analysis of experimental results related to molecular and developmental biology (PCR, plasmid preparation, in situ hybridizations, microscopy, and histological techniques).
  • Zebrafish husbandry.
  • Keep detailed records of experimental research.
  • Perform other related duties assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. degree with 2 years of relevant scientific research experience, including:
    • 1 year of experience performing molecular and developmental biology techniques, including PCR, plasmid preparation, in situ hybridization, microscopy, and histological methods.
    • 1 year of hands-on experience working with zebrafish as a model organism, including molecular biology and embryology.
    • 1 year of experience working with zebrafish husbandry, including daily care, health monitoring, and breeding support.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain accurate records, with strong attention to detail.

Hiring Range

$25.25 - $30.75 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
