Job Description Summary

This Clinical Research Coordinator C will be part of an exciting, dynamic, and expanding clinical research team within Penn's Gastrointestinal Cancer Genetics Program, which focuses on hereditary gastrointestinal cancer risk syndromes. This position will have a specific focus on studies focused on hereditary syndromes increasing risk for colorectal polyps, colorectal cancer, and gastric cancer. Responsibilities will include coordinating screening, recruiting, and enrolling patients into multiple actively recruiting studies focusing on gastrointestinal cancer risk, as well as coordinating IRB submission and documentation. The position will also perform data collection, entry, logging, and analysis, as well as maintaining data files in an organized and confidential manner. Additionally, the position will be responsible for blood collection as well as sample processing, storage, shipping and tracking. Finally, the position will work collaboratively with other research staff within the Gastrointestinal Cancer Genetics Program, including members of the basic science laboratory, will oversee and/or help manage other studies ongoing in the program, and will work with the Principal Investigator and/or co-Principal Investigators on other research related activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Data entry
  • IRB submission and correspondence
  • Sample processing, storage, and shipping
  • Peripheral blood sample acquisition via phlebotomy
  • Preparation of research protocols and documents

Position Contingent Upon Funding

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science and 4 to 6 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Preferred:

  • Science/healthcare and/or public health/public policy background

Pay Range

$62,000.00 - $63,085.00 Annual Rate

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
