In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale

Minimum: $23.88 Hourly
Maximum: $23.88 Hourly

Job Summary

The research technician will be required to carry out NIH funded research.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of bacterial growth and genetics. Ability to work with glassware, solutions, DNA, PCR, cloning as needed.
• Knowledge of protein purification and molecular techniques.

Ability:

• Ability to conduct bacterial assays including observation and microscopy as needed.
• Ability to conduct biochemical assays, including the use of radioisotopes if needed.
• Ability to work with and organize work for students and be able to interact with them appropriately.
• Ability to document work and perform data analysis.
• Demonstrate a commitment to working for an organization that values and promotes humanism.

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Biological sciences, Microbiology or Molecular Biology.
