This position functions as a researcher for the Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME) and is responsible for the execution of routine engineering tasks on industry-sponsored projects relating to Materials and Process and its METAL workshops; works closely with supervisor and senior engineers to ensure projects are completed in accordance with project milestones, deliverable requirements, and within the cost and schedule agreed upon during project scoping; collaborates with CDME staff and students to coordinate multidisciplinary tasks; applies knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures gained through education; follows project management processes; supports professional development and student program activities of CDME in area of expertise; performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
This position will require access to export controlled data and work in an export controlled facility. Eligibility for this position is restricted to U.S. persons as defined in U.S. export control regulations. U.S. persons include: (1) U.S. citizens or nationals; (2) permanent residents; (3) asylees or refugees; or (4) individuals otherwise described as protected individuals pursuant to Title 8 U.S. Code Section 1324b(a)(3)(b).

Experience Required:
1 year experience in an R&D or teaching setting (i.e., supporting technical activities, project planning, or instructional programs)

Experience supporting hands-on technical workshops, laboratories, or maker environments; familiarity with materials, manufacturing, or process engineering concepts; experience working with students or coordinating activities in academic or training settings; and prior involvement with industry-sponsored projects, applied research, or program support roles.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $51,500- $67,250. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
