Researcher in Infectious Disease Ethics

Oxford Population Health (the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford) is a global pioneer and leader in population health science. The department has over 1000 staff, students and academic visitors who investigate the causes and prevention of disease and lead human health forward.
As a Researcher in Infectious Disease Ethics, you will undertake interdisciplinary research within the Ethox Centre in collaboration with the Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI), part of the Nuffield Department of Medicine. Reporting to Dr Tess Johnson and working closely with the Ethics, Policy and Context Theme, you will develop and deliver an independent research project exploring ethical issues at the intersection of global health and infectious disease. The role-holder will contribute to collaborative publications, present research findings at seminars and conferences and support the wider academic activities of the Ethox Centre and PSI, including mentoring junior researchers and participating in seminars and public engagement activities.
To be considered, you will hold (or be close to completion of) a PhD/DPhil in philosophy, bioethics, medical humanities, or a related discipline, or have equivalent experience. You will have relevant research experience, the ability to manage your own academic research activities and experience contributing to academic publications or presentations. You will also demonstrate excellent communication and collaborative skills with the ability to develop new research ideas and work effectively within interdisciplinary research teams.
The position is full time (part time considered) and fixed term for 2 years.
