The Salon Receptionist position is a part-time position filled as needed during the academic year. The Salon Receptionist is a member of an educational salon which serves the needs of the community. This position reports to the Department Head, Applied Technology and Professional Services and is directly supervised by the Cosmetology Program Coordinator in the daily functions of a busy salon.
Duties and Responsibilities: Performs administrative duties necessary for the efficient operation of the Salon, including, but not limited to, checking clients in and out, answering and responding to telephone calls, making appointments, accepting payments for services rendered, and working in an online client scheduling application. Provides excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Possesses the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and exercise discretion concerning confidential matters; operates office equipment such as computer, scanner, and photocopying machine; responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices and regulations that apply to this specific area and position. Unsafe conditions should be reported to the immediate supervisor and to the Pensacola State College Police Department / Public Safety; and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or GED equivalency, and two years secretarial experience, demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, etc.) in a networked office setting, and internet navigation. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Hourly Rate: $15.72 (25 hours per week)
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm
