Job Description
The Finance Service Delivery team facilitates the purchasing of goods and services by authorised University users. Acting as the first line of defence against fraud, this team also manage vendor relations and oversee accounts payable functions, including payment validation and processing.
Our Finance Officers ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements, provides detailed advice on finance policies and systems, and collaborates to resolve complex financial issues. Committed to high quality service, you will work collaboratively with other departments, your team and the broader Finance Service Delivery team. This person understands and works effectively within the University Fraud and Corruption Control framework.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
- Advancing, managing and protecting Griffith University's financial integrity, security and ensure compliance with legal regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Providing feedback and suggestions to improve transaction processing and overall service delivery.
- Maintaining open communication with colleagues and suppliers to facilitate efficient service within our service offerings.
- Applying a structured and collaborative problem-solving approach and good judgment to analyse and resolve diverse issues relating to transaction processing.
A typical day as a Finance Officer would consist of:
- Resolving low to medium complexity finance transactions and queries in an accurate and timely manner.
- Processing purchase requests and managing orders through their full lifecycle in Oracle PeopleSoft.

You will also have:
- Associate diploma level qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Ability to work autonomously with a high level of attention to detail.
- Capability to identify solutions and undertake quality control activities.
- Good communication and effective collaboration skills.
- A positive outlook on challenges.
- Experience with Oracle Peoplesoft, Nintex Promapp and Eftsure beneficial but not required.
- Past experience working in travel, international purchasing and reconciliation would be advantageous but not required.
What we can offer
This is a continuing, full-time position and will be primarily based at either the Griffith University Nathan or Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 4 range $70,419 - $74,299 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $82,390 - $86,930 per annum.
