Salary Range: $62,500 – $104,000

Loyola University Chicago School of Law invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position with expertise in Property, Evidence and Torts beginning around July 1, 2025. The appointment is renewable. The ability and interest to teach in the hybrid format in our part-time/weekend J.D. division will also be considered as a part of the review process.

Applicants must possess a JD along with excellent academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring students. Loyola University Chicago School of Law is dedicated to contributing to a deeper understanding of law, legal institutions, and systems of oppression through a commitment to transformation, intersectionality, and antisubordination in our teaching, research, scholarship, and public service.   • Teaching two courses per semester, including Property, Evidence and/or Torts;
  • Service to the School of Law, University, and community;
  • Participation in School of Law faculty governance and committee work;
  • Active involvement in student mentoring and advising;
  • Significant engagement with academic institutions and professional organizations, including frequent participation in local, regional, and national meetings and symposia.

Qualifications

The qualifications required for the position are:

  • Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited institution;
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and writing; and
  • Strong commitment to social justice.

Additional valued qualifications include:

  • Legal practice experience;
  • Prior teaching experience at a law school; and
  • Clerkship experience

Additional Salary Information: This salary range is for a twelve-month academic appointment. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
