Secretary I
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Secretary I for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC) within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Secretary I is to provide high-level secretarial and administrative services for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center. Coordinates the activities for assigned projects. Coordinates the activities for assigned projects and programs.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- As the senior level secretary, provides high level secretarial/administrative services and support for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center.
- Provides secretarial assistance in conjunction with relevant meetings.
- Responsible for accurate data entry and maintenance of all program records to include daily program census and group logs.
- Maintains time-off request forms and files them in one location so that requests can be checked as needed.
- Assures all preparation of internal related forms are completed in a timely manner.
- Brings all completed and reviewed registration paperwork from the weekend to registration by the end of the first business day after completion in CRSC.
- Handles telephone calls in a professional and helpful manner.
- Maintains an accurate filing system to meet the needs of the Unit.
- Handles internal and external mail for Unit.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies, plus four (4) years of full-time secretarial experience required. An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program. College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience. Up to sixty (60) credits may be substituted for two (2) years of secretarial experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 pounds). Walking throughout the program space throughout the day. Frequently prolonged sitting and data entry. Frequently talks and listens to people on the telephone, and intermittently walks, bends, stretches, pushes and pulls.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast-paced work environment in a clean, well-lit, active setting. Client presence in the program throughout the workday with client crisis occurring frequently. Ongoing contact with patient population.
