Security Officer

Job Summary

The Campus Safety Office at Rollins College is currently inviting service-oriented individuals to apply for a full-time Security Officer position. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming campus environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

• Advising, directing, and providing information to students, employees, and the public
• Patrolling the campus on foot or motor vehicle
• Responding to all accidents, crimes, and complaints calls occurring on campus property
• Assisting motorists, students, employees, and visitors on campus
• Noting and taking preventative/corrective action on all hazards and areas of concern
• Review and respond to emails and phone calls promptly
• Preparing and maintaining necessary campus security records and reports
• Making preliminary investigative reports
• Enforcing traffic and parking regulations
• Providing safety security services for large gatherings and events on campus
• Administering first aid as necessary
• Assisting in the implementation of safety/security programs
• Assisting in the monitoring of computerized security systems
• Coordinating and working closely with local police and fire departments
• Opening and closing facilities; monitoring and controlling access
• Monitoring alarm systems and responding when necessary
• Inspecting buildings for security, fire, and other potential hazards

Minimum Qualifications & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of job-related experience.
• Valid Florida driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR)
• Possess and maintain CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
• Possess and maintain State of Florida ‘Class D' security license within 90 days of hire.
