Security Officer
Job Summary
The Campus Safety Office at Rollins College is currently inviting service-oriented individuals to apply for a full-time Security Officer position. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming campus environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Advising, directing, and providing information to students, employees, and the public
- Patrolling the campus on foot or motor vehicle
- Responding to all accidents, crimes, and complaints calls occurring on campus property
- Assisting motorists, students, employees, and visitors on campus
- Noting and taking preventative/corrective action on all hazards and areas of concern
- Review and respond to emails and phone calls promptly
- Preparing and maintaining necessary campus security records and reports
- Making preliminary investigative reports
- Enforcing traffic and parking regulations
- Providing safety security services for large gatherings and events on campus
- Administering first aid as necessary
- Assisting in the implementation of safety/security programs
- Assisting in the monitoring of computerized security systems
- Coordinating and working closely with local police and fire departments
- Opening and closing facilities; monitoring and controlling access
- Monitoring alarm systems and responding when necessary
- Inspecting buildings for security, fire, and other potential hazards
Minimum Qualifications & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of job-related experience.
- Valid Florida driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle report (MVR)
- Possess and maintain CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
- Possess and maintain State of Florida ‘Class D' security license within 90 days of hire.
