Semester Lecturer - Lord Denney's Players
Position Overview
Lord Denneys Players (LDP), an academic theatre company housed in the OSU depts of English and Theatre, Film and Media Arts, seeks a part-time lecturer with experience in research-driven theatre to direct the companys 2025 production, Fair Em, the Millers Daughter of Manchester, in Autumn 2025.
Performance Objectives
The Lecturer will work with the LDP production manager/creative director on all elements of the production from design, concept, and casting, and be in charge of the 10-week rehearsal process and the 3-night run. Responsibilities include designing and implementing a high-impact, collaborative learning experience for an enthusiastic company of 18-24 members with skill levels varying from beginning to advanced, ensuring that all OSU regulations and safety procedures are followed, and supervising undergraduate and graduate student participants both on and off-campus.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Required: 1+ years of experience working with undergraduate participants in research-driven theatre in a supervisory capacity. Graduate-level coursework in English Renaissance drama. 2+ years experience as an instructor-of-record teaching writing and/or literature courses. Knowledge of Lord Denneys Players organizational history and pedagogical ethos.
- Desired: Familiarity with practice-as-research methodologies and best practices.
