Job Description:

About This Opportunity

As the Senior Advancement Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening philanthropic partnerships that enable scientific discovery and real‑world impact. Working within a close‑knit and high‑performing Advancement team in the Faculty of Science, you will help build and progress the leadership‑level fundraising pipeline, connecting donors with causes that advance research, education, learning and innovation across one of Australia’s largest and most diverse science faculties. This role offers a balance of relationship‑driven fundraising, donor stewardship and operational excellence, supported by a collaborative and flexible team culture.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying, qualifying and cultivating prospective donors to support Faculty of Science fundraising priorities, with a focus on leadership‑level gifts to support students and research.
  • Managing a portfolio of donors and prospects, progressing relationships through meaningful engagement and personalised stewardship.
  • Coordinating donor stewardship activities, including events, communications and engagement with students and researchers.
  • Preparing fundraising proposals, reports and briefing materials, and ensuring accurate recording of donor interactions within the Advancement CRM.

About You

You are a confident and personable professional who believes in the power of philanthropy to create lasting impact. Comfortable initiating conversations and building rapport, you are motivated by connecting people to purpose and translating donor interest into meaningful support. To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • A degree with at least four years’ subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Demonstrated experience in philanthropy, fundraising and/or donor engagement, ideally within a tertiary or large, complex organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with donors and stakeholders by phone, email and in person.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and contribute positively within a collaborative, high performing team.
  • Well-developed administrative capability, including preparing reports and proposals and maintaining accurate records in CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, or the ability to rapidly acquire this capability.

An interest in, or exposure to, science, health, medical or related disciplines, gained through work or study, is desirable.
