We are looking to recruit two Senior Animal Technicians for a facility based in Cambridge.

As a member of a hard working team you will support the facility management by supervising a team of technicians, with the care and welfare of rodents housed in conventional caging. You will undertake scientific procedures associated with the production and maintenance of rodents, and will support the team with training of new and trainee technicians. You will be required on occasion to assist research staff completing regulated and non-regulated procedures and during surgical procedures.

You will have Home Office Licence modules A-C and hold a Home Office Personal Licence, and completion of Institute of Animal Technology (IAT) Level 2 (minimum).

Experience working within a designated establishment with rodents in conventional caging is required. Additionally, proven supervisory or team leader experience and the ability to use a computerised systems are also required.

There are two positions available. Positions are available immediately and are subject to a 6 month probationary period.

In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidates for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidates will be required to undergo a health assessment and a security check. The University will determine whether an outcome is satisfactory.
