Offer Description

Associate position: Senior Assistant at the Division of Experimental Physics, Ion Beam Interactions Laboratory, for work on the IPCH HRZZ project “A new approach to deterministic ion implantation with advanced gas ionization detectors”—focused on the development and application of low‑energy ion implantation for the creation of NV colour centres in diamond. A medical examination for work in an ionizing radiation area (Category B exposed worker) is mandatory. The position is fixed-term for 20 months, but no longer than 30 June 2028. Skills/Qualifications

In addition to the general employment requirements set out in Article 39, paragraph 7 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• a doctoral degree (PhD) in Natural Sciences, area of Physics,
• active knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in optical characterization and in creating colour centres in diamond using ion implantation.

Eligibility criteria

Additional comments

The position is temporary, for a fixed term of 20 months, but no longer than 30 June 2028. The employment includes a six-month trial period.

The candidate cannot be employed as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Republic of Croatia for a total of more than four years. The employment, according to the Rules of the Croatian Science Foundation—for work on a project as a Postdoctoral Fellow—can be contracted a maximum of two times (i.e., on two different projects) and only with candidates whose period between the enrollment in doctoral studies and this employment is no longer than 10 years.

Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.
