Job Description

Department desires to hire part time technicians to provide support for ophthalmologists and/or optometrists. Duties may include the following:

• Conduct preliminary patient interviews and record relevant data such as chief complaint, health history, medications, and allergies for the physician's review. Measure vitals when necessary.
• Prepare patient and exam rooms for all procedures and provide assistance to physicians for procedures.
• Clean and restock exam rooms including restock of supplies, equipment and medications.
• Review expiration dates of supplies and medication and take appropriate action.
• Conduct a variety of eye examinations and testing as directed by physician.
• Photographs medical phenomena of eye to document diseases, surgeries, treatments, and congenital problems.
• Focuses specialized microscope and cameras to take two-three-dimensional photographs of external, anterior and posterior segments of eye.
• Monitors patients gaze through lens of microscope camera to make sure that patient complies with instructions to obtain desired results.
• May photograph eye to document research studies.
• Assist physicians as required and perform all other duties as assigned.

Shift

Shifts will vary, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Up to 20 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $18.50-$34.18 (hourly)
