Senior Course Administrator

University of Oxford - Oxford Lifelong Learning

Location: Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2JA

Oxford Lifelong Learning in the Department for Continuing Education is seeking to appoint a Senior Course Administrator for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Short Courses, which is housed in the Department’s Professional and Open Access Courses section.

The CPD Portfolio provides short open enrolment and bespoke courses that are designed to provide high-level training and professional upskilling for individuals across a range of companies, for professionals in organisations, for government departments, and for research and academic institutions.

About the role

You will work as part of a team of four administrators, responsible for administering a portfolio of courses covering subjects including Business & Management, Technology & Al, and Vaccinology (which may be subject to change from time-to-time). You will provide support for the student lifecycle on these courses from end-to-end, including dealing with applications and admissions, on-course administration and handling post-course enquiries. Whilst you will generally focus on administration for your own portfolio of courses, you will be required to be flexible in supporting other colleagues in the team and across the Department, as and when required.

During the weeks in which the CPD courses run, you will need to adjust your working week and work outside of normal office hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the type of course. Such hours will be paid as time off in lieu or in line with the University’s policy on overtime.

This is a full-time position, available on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

About you

You will have significant experience of working in an office, with excellent administrative and event/course organisation, skills, accuracy, and attention to detail, and an ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team. You will have sound judgement and an ability to adhere to established procedures and protocols, which will allow you to work with minimal supervision, while seeking guidance as required. Discretion and a professional and helpful manner in dealing with a wide range of people over the telephone, via email or in person are essential. You must be competent in a range of Microsoft Office applications, and be willing to use technology to the full to reduce administrative processes. You should have a very good standard of numeracy and experience of working with data. A strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills are also essential.

About us

The Department provides opportunities for people from a wide variety of backgrounds to benefit from the University’s rich and unique resources. We are ambitious and forward-thinking, with a strong sense of identity and community. Our mission is to inspire people locally, nationally and globally by extending access to Oxford’s world-class teaching and resources through flexible and inclusive opportunities for study and research.

Colleagues uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of the Department and actively promote a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Application process

You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.

To make informal enquiries about the post please contact recruitment@conted.ox.ac.uk.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 2 February 2026.

Interviews will take place during week commencing 9 February 2026.

The University of Oxford is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from individuals regardless of their background.
